Археологи Китаю і Франції продовжують досліджувати знайдені в глибині однієї з найбільших у світі пустель Такла-Макан (Takla Makan), що на північному-заході Китаю, 4 мумії представників європеoїдної раси.
Як повідомив співробітник Сіньцзянського інституту археології, периметр виявленого древнього містечка складає близько 995 метрів, висота збереженої до наших днів стіни становить 3—4 метри.
Як повідомило державне агентство «Сіньхуа», на сусідніх біля нього руїнах виявлено понад 20 поховань, у 3 похованнях, що знаходяться в гарному стані, виявлено 4 мумії європейців, на думку вчених вони жили в 1—2 тисячолітті до нашої ери (а не столітті, як повідомляли деякі інтернет-видання).
Коли в 80-х роках ХХ століття китайські археологи почали досліджувати південну ділянку басейну ріки Тарім — великий негостинний пустельний регіон, по краю якого колись проходив Великий Шовковий шлях, — вони знайшли поховання, що відносяться до другого тисячоліття до нової ери. Муміфіковані тіла були знайдені в найбільш посушливій і просоленій частині Центральної Азії — пустелі Такла-Макан Китайського Туркестану (Синьцзян-Уйгурський автономний район КНР), в околицях міст Черчень і Лоулань.
Коли археологи розкопали древнє поховання, вони побачили, що уста мумій ніби застигли в крику. Їхні тіла збереглися краще, ніж мумії єгипетських фараонів: завдяки винятково сухому повітрю, а також тій обставині, що могили були вириті в соляному ?рунті, що прискорює процес висушування й убиває мікроорганізми.

Найстарішим муміям із Черченя — близько 3 тис. років, а з Лоулані – близько 4 тис. Тіла були одягнені в яскраве вбрання, що не зотліло і не вицвіло за минулі тисячоріччя. Знахідки були перенесені в Провінційний музей м. Урумчі, де воз’єдналися з іще декількома муміями, знайденими в цьому регіоні. Однак лише в 1994 р. разом з публікацією в журналі Discovery фотографій і статті, мумії Урумчі стали відомі науковому світу. Фахівці негайно відзначили, що знайдені тіла належали до європеоїдної, а не до монголоїдної раси. Більш того, мерці відрізнялися високим зростом — близько 180 сантиметрів. Ким були ці люди? Звідки вони прийшли?
Мумія арійської жінки
Ось мумія жінки, якій було приблизно 40 років. Її висока статура, ніс і руде волосся вказує на те, що вона була європейського походження.
До числа черченських мумій відноситься «Черченський чоловік», три «співаючі» жінки і тримісячна дитина, що лежить на подушці з білої овечої вовни й обгорнена у прекрасну коричневу матерію, обв’язану червоними й синіми шнурами. Легка сивина показує, що померлому було за 50 років. Він відрізнявся завидним зростом - під два метри - і нехарактерним для азіатів великим носом. За сумою зовнішніх ознак, черченська людина - європеєць. Щелепа чоловіка була акуратно підв'язана, тому в його зовнішньому вигляді немає нічого незвичайного; підв'язки ж на головах жінок ослабнули, і вирази їхніх облич отримали вигляд співаючих або кричущих.

У її похованні були знайдені насіння пшениці в щільній полотняній сумці, а на грудях покійної — решето. Вовняна тканина з Лоулані не така барвиста, як черченська, але за візерунками і малюнком плетива не менш вражаюча: тканина, із якої виготовлений одяг, за забарвленням і орнаментом нагадує кельтську «шотландку».
Ці люди були тієї ж раси, що і «черченьці». Вірогідно, що народ, до якого належали черченські мумії, розмовляв однією з арійських (індоєвропейських) мов.
Мережа каналів, численні кам’яні жорна, склади зерна й інші знахідки свідчать про те, що близько 3000—4000 років тому в пустелі жила група древніх представників причорноморської арійської спільноти.
Вони пасли худобу, займалися зрошенням, носили одяг з хутра, використовували дерев’яні меблі.
«Вони добре володіли технологією обробки вовни і прядіння, робили одяг з овечої і верблюжої шкіри, вовняні вироби червоного і жовтого кольорів», — поінформував французький учений.
А ось опис однієї з мумій (журнал «Вокруг Света», 2000 р., № 4): «Довгий ніс, глибоко посаджені очі, світло-каштанове волосся, світла шкіра». У цьому ж джерелі сказано, що небіжчиків ховали в трунах, видовбаних з дерева й затягнутих коров’ячими шкірами.

Проте мумія належала людині явно європейського типу». «Вік мумії вчені визначили приблизно в 3—4 тисячі років. Але як європеєць потрапив у глибину Азії?»

У районі озера Чіл-Нір і пустелі Такла-Макан (де сходяться Китай, Киргизія, Таджикистан і Монголія) учені стали знаходити такі ж мумії, того ж віку й вигляду. Були витягнуті різні предмети: головні убори, одяг, взуття, гребені, маленькі ножі, гончарні вироби тощо. У музеї Урумчі виставлено шість таких мумій європейців, у запасниках зберігається ще не менше сотні, вік деяких з них сягає 3700—4000 років.

Вважається, що знайдені мумії належали індоєвропейському народу «тохари», що проживав у Середній Азії в країні Тохаристан і, увійшовши в Кушанське царство, втратив своє родове ім’я.
